Abstract

Neonatal mortality is one of the important indicators of child health and child welfare. Based on a survey of DKK Boyolali data showing an increase in neonatal mortality from 6.12 per 1000 live births in 2015 to 6.70 per 1000 live births in 2016. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between socioeconomic status risk factors, Antenatale care, pregnancy complication, and sex of infant with neonatal mortality in Boyolali Regency. This type of research is observational research with case control approach (case control). The population in this study were all mothers who had infants and those who had neonatal mortality aged 0-28 days in Boyolali district in 2016, amounting to 120 respondents. Selection of sample in case group counted 60 people and control as many as 120 people with ratio 1: 2 done by using Cluster Random Sampling technique. Statistical test technique using Chi Square test and Fisher’s Exact test. The result showed that there was correlation between socioeconomic status risk factors of the respondent and neonatal mortality (p-value = 0,046; OR = 2.070; 95% CI = 1,062-4,031); ), There was no association between Antenatale care of the respondent and neonatal mortality (p-value=0.402), There was no association between pregnancy complication of the respondent and neonatal mortality (p-value = 0.832), and there was a relationship between the sex of the infant and neonatal mortality (p-value = 0.018; OR = 2.252; 95% CI = 1,194-4,428)
