Abstract

Basic teaching skills are things to be understood before implementing classroom learning. This study discusses about how to teach basic skills during microteaching by activist organizations in biology education courses Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. Samples taken in this research is purposive sampling with 25 active daily caretaker at HMP Biology who are taking courses microteaching. Data collection techniques in this study using triangulation of sources in the form of observation as primary data, then questionnaires and interviews as supporting data. The conclusion of the research shows that the teaching skills in microteaching practice reach the criteria well enough on the observation result with the average score on each skill there are for open and close lesson skill with score 67.8. Classroom managing skills with score 69.2. Held variations skill with score 60.8. Skills explained eith score 74.4.
