Abstract

Background: Calcaneus spurs are the development of bone shaped on the underside of the foot or back of the calcaneus bone. Calcaneus spurs are also known as heel spurs, which can cause pain during activity that sometimes pain is difficult to distinguish from the pain associated with plantar fascitis. So as to result in complaints of pain and decreased scope of motion of the joints. Physiotherapy modalities for this condition use ultrasound (US) and exercise therapy. Objective: To determine the benefits of ultrasound (US) modalities and exercise therapy in the case of calcaneus spurs in reducing pain and increasing the range of motion of joints. Results: After the 8x therapy, the results obtained (1) the reduction of pain from T1 to T8 as measured by VAS scale (Visual Analogue Scale), in the ankle joint obtained values of T1 0- T8 0, T1 4.2- T8 2.6, motion pain T1 6.3- T8 3,7, (2) increase of motion scope of joints using Goneometer obtained result that is T1 S: 15 ° -0 ° -35 °, T8 S: 20 ° -0 ° -40 °. Conclusion: Management of physiotherapy using ultrasound (US) and exercise therapy on calcaneus spurs condition decreases pain, increases muscle strength and scope of joint motion.
