Abstract

Since two decades, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) is one of the main tourist destination destinations both domestically and abroad in Indonesia. As a tourist destination, the province is required to continue to develop and beautify its tourism face. One of them is Kulon Progo which is one of regencies in Special Region of Yogyakarta. As a District, Kulon Progo has its own authority to manage the resources contained in its territory, including the potential resources of its tourism sector. Kulon Progo Regency has a potential nature tourism sector to be developed and marketed, ranging from beaches, reservoirs, caves and highlands. All tourism objects above are still under the control of the Regency government through the Culture Department Tourism Tourism Youth and Sports Kulon Progo. district, the management and development of tourism still rely on incentives from local governments, which in its development with permission from the local government can be managed by private parties and the community . The variety of tourism objects in Kulon Progo can be a potential and big economic investment in the future, be it for the government, private and the surrounding community, but of course needed a variety of appropriate protection policies to always create sustainability among relevant stakeholders.
