Abstract

Learning at schools has a very important role for students in the classroom. One of the learning where students make creative, interesting and innovative notes is using Mind Mapping learning. Mind Mapping learning method is the most effective and efficient way to enter, store, and extract data from or to the brain. This study aims to determine the effect of mind mapping learning on student learning outcomes of grade VII SMP Negeri 1 Colomadu Karanganyar academic year 2016/2017. This study uses Quasi Experimental with post test only control group design. The population of this research is all students of class VII at SMP Negeri 1 Colomadu. The classes used are class VII F as the experimental class and class VII G as the control class. Data obtained from with the end value of students ie post test. Data analysis used is Independent sample T-test. Before the data is analyzed, the prerequisite test is done in the form of normality test and t test. Learning with Mind Mapping obtained an average of 72.46 and on the conventional learning obtained an average value of 67.36. Then, the result of spps data will analysis test by Equal Variances Assumed where obtained siginfikansi value 0,981> 0,05 then H0 accepted (both of variance of population are equal or homogeneous). Hypothesis test results obtained Thitung 2.291 greater than T table. The value of TTable 1.993 is obtained from the 5% level (df = 71) of 1.993, while the probability value is 0.000 <0.005, then H0 is rejected. So, it can be concluded that mind mapping learning can affect the results of science learning Biology Grade VII students SMP Negeri 1 Colomadu academic year 2016/2017.
