Abstract

Aluminium sulfate is widely used in water treatment processes at PDAM and is widely used in pulp and paper making industry, industrial paint, leather processing industry, food and beverage industry. Aluminium sulfate is produced by reacting sulfuric acid with kaolin which is done in a CSTR reactors equipped with a cooling jackets. An exothermic nature of the reaction with operating conditions on pressure of 1 atm and a temperature of 90⁰C. the resulting Product is aluminum sulfate with levels of 98%. Stages of the process includes the preparation of raw materials, aluminum sulfate formation in the reactor, and purification of the product. Factory aluminum sulfate acid raw materials requires selfat as much as 2,575.8567 kg/hour and kaolin as much as 2,255.4579 kg/hour to produce aluminium products amounted to 2,904.0404 kg/hour. Units supporting utilities includes water needs make up a total of 4,854.1837 kg/hour, steam needs of 477.9801 kg/hour, the electric needs of 191.9847 kw, the fuel needs of 26.6920 m3 and compressed air needs of 50 m3/hour. For the required land area is 9,590.6122 m2 and total of employees as much as 111 employees. The form of the company is a limited liability company (PT) with the organizational structure of line and staff. Employee system based on the Division of work hours consisting of employees of the shift and non-shift. Aluminum manufacturer sufat planned will stand in 2020 in Cikampek, West Java. Fixed capital investments (FCI) the factory was Rp 88,884,090,587, for working capital (WC) amounting to Rp 17,132,671,812. From economic analysis it can be shown that the Percent return on investment (ROI) 29.00% before tax and after-tax 21.75% ROI. Pay out time (POT) before tax 2.56 years whereas after tax 3.15 years. Break event point (BEP) of 46.78%. Shut down point (SDP) amounted to 20.17% and discounted cash flow (DCF) amounted to 23.68%. From the results of the economic analysis of aluminum sulphate factory is worth to set up in Indonesia.
