Abstract

SRIKASTINI. NIM: S. 200090029. Upgrades Reading Comprehension Through SQ3R Approach Student Class V Elementary Negeri Sidorejo Cepogo District of Boyolali. Thesis, Management Education. Graduate program. Muhammadiyah Surakarta university. Goals to be achieved in this research is to improve reading comprehension, so that the learning outcomes will be optimized in line with expectations and the learning objectives. This approach is also useful to improve the old approach that has been applied by the teacher. This study is a qualitative research that is supported by quantitative data. The object of this research is the Elementary School fifth grade students Cepogo Kabupeten Sidorejo District of Boyolali. This research data collection method is the method of observation, interviews, questionnaires and document analysis. Methods of data analysis used in this research is the analysis of qualitative data through data reduction tahapah that has been collected, exposure data, and storing data. Step-by-step data reduction is done by selecting, simplify, focus, abstract, raw data into meaningful, transform systematically, rationally to display the materials used as a basis for formulating the answers to the purpose of action research. Exposure data is done by displaying critical data in a more simple, meaningful in narrative form, tables, graphs, and charts. Variable SQ3R approach positive and significant impact on the ability of reading comprehension Elementary School fifth grade students Sidorejo Cepogo District of Boyolali. Literacy levels and a significant positive effect on the application of the approach SQ3R Elementary School fifth grade students Sidorejo Cepogo District of Boyolali Keywords: SQ3R approach and reading comprehension
