Abstract

Character education is a process of developing the values of life to be cultivated in a person's personality or learners so that it becomes a habit such person so it can be practiced in the daily lives day. The issues and purpose of this research are how the implementation of character education in PAI learning in SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo?, and What factors supporting and hindering the planting of character education in PAI learning in SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo?. This study aimed to describe: Implementation of character education in PAI learning in SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo and enabling and inhibiting factors in the cultivation of character education in PAI learning in SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo. This research use qualitative method in wich data are colleted interviews, observations, and documentation, and then analyzed by descriptive qualitative method. Based on data from the results of this study concluded that Implementation of character education in PAI learning in SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo 2017 has been the implementation of karater good education, lesson planning and evaluation innovative PAI good learning and character education planting learner with methods and strategies that do not override the values of characters contained in the subject PAI, Besides the routine and extracurricular activities to support the implementation of penananaman character, cultivation of character in SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo already running well and have a positive impact in improving the quality of the learning process, both in the initial activity, the core activity of learning mupun end activities. factors supporting and hindering the implementation of character education in PAI learning in SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo is the availability of school programs, facilities and infrastructure of a good class, student interest is high, the atmosphere comfortable classrooms, teachers' attention, an example of exemplary teachers and some positive activities in schools and places of worship mosques inhibiting factors is insufficient, lack of parental and social environment outside of school learners.
