Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of reduplication in the text of the text of This type of research is a qualitative research. This study has 2 objectives. (1) to describe the form of repetition of the word contained in the text of the work of class VIII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Surakarta. (2) to study the meaning of repetition of words in the text of the work of SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Surakarta students. The object of this research is reduplication or repetition of the word contained in the text of the news work of students of class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Surakarta. Technique of collecting data in this research using tek ik refer and note. To analyze the data in this research using the method of agih with advanced technique of repeated technique. The results are as follows. First, the form of reduplication found is (a) the repetition of all basic forms without variation of vonem and affixation of 26 data, (b) partial repetitions with complex wording of complexes of data 1, (c) partial repetition with the base word attributed to 2 data. Second, the meaning of reduplication is found (i) to declare the meaning of resembling or imitating a number of 2 meanings based on the data, (ii) expressing the meaning of many or various 24 meanings based on the data, and (iii) expressing the meaning of the work done repeatedly 3 meaning based on data.
