Abstract

The medical world at this time can not be separated from technological developments that continue to develop, technological development at this time is closely related to the medical world is the digital image processing with the use of image processing technology in the form of MRI. MRI is a cutting-edge medical device that serves to examine and detect human organs by using magnetic fields and radio frequency waves, MRI images can provide information about the structure in the patient's body in more detail without radiation than X-rays or radioactive materials. MRI image processing is safer to use and easier to analyze. In this study aims to detect tumors in MRI images, in this study is divided into three stages of image processing with thresholding segmentation, thresholding segmentation is one image segmentation technique in which the process is based on the difference of gray scale image. Then the feature extraction retraction, feature extraction is a step extracting the information features of the objects in the image to be identified as distinguished from other objects. And then resumed morphological operation, morphological operation is a process that aims to change the shape of the object on the original image. The process can be done on the grayscale image and binary image, morphological operation aims to smoothing the results of the feature extraction process so that the object is seen with the maximum and perfect. In this study aims to get the object suspected tumor by performing feature extraction so as to distinguish with other objects. In addition, also built MATLAB toolbox applications as output research and documentation.
