Abstract

The purpose this research is (1) to describe the denotative meaning contained in the rubric of daily opinion Kompas March 2017 editon, (2) to describe the denotative meaning contained in the meaning in daily opinion Kompas March 2017 edition, (3) implication of denotative and connotative meaning in daily opinion column of Kompas March 2017 edition. The type of this qualitative descriptive. Data collection techniques conducted in this study using the method refer to the advanced technique of engineering note. The method used in analyzing data that is match method with basic techniques HBS and distributional method with advanced technique of BUL . The technique of data validity uses theoretical triangulation. The results of the analysis in this study is the discovery of data denotative meaning and data showing connotative meaning. Besides the denotative and connotative meanings contained in the rubric of daily opinion Kompas March 2017 edition. The results of this study have implications for learning Indonesian in SMA/SMK class XII even semester on basic competence 4.1 interpret the meaning of editorial/ opinion text both orally and in writing.
