Abstract

This research aims to 1) describes the characteristics of the misconceptions student have the cognitive style of field dependent on mathematical learning material fractions class VD primary school Birrul Walidain Muhammadiyah Sragen years 2016/2017. 2) describes the cause of the misconception that happens to student who have the cognitive stylr of field dependent on mathematical learning material fractions class VD primary school Birrul Walidain Muhammadiyah Sragen years 2016/2017. This research uses descriptive qualitative approach the design of the study the phenomenon. The subject of research using a sample election aims and selected 5 of the subject. Data collection techniques used are 1) test method that includes a test of cognitive style classification and diagnostic test, 2) method of interview done to student who experience the misconception of a field dependent, 3) method of observation at the time of learning of mathematics material fraction in class VD primary Birrul Walidain Muhammadiyah Sragen. Technique of data anaysis in this research is interactive data analysis techniques. Test the validity od the data with the triangulation method. Based on the resuts of the research can be concluded 1) there are 3 characteristic of a misconception that is a misconception to teoritikal on the concept of value a fraction, a misconception klasifikasional in grains of metter the types of fractions, a misconception correlation on grain fractions, operating and reserved. 2) causes a misconception is the simpification of concepts, pratical aspect of student, the student’s inability to rolate concepts, prakonsepsi student who may be obtained from the learning process in the clasroom, and causes that come from teacher.
