Abstract

The study have three objectives to analyze: 1) factors that affect the design life of not achieving regency hotmix road, 2) the most dominant factor affect on not achieving the design life of regency hotmix road, 3) strategy of not achieving the design life of regency hotmix road in Malang Regency. The method used in this study is descriptive analysis. The data collection by distributing questionnaires and interviews to owners, consultants, contractors. Data analysis using multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate: 1) Factors that affect the design life of not achieving regency hotmix road are: design changes, vehicles, environment, human resources, methods of execution of work, equipment, soil conditions, material, financial, and quality control and management. 2) The most dominant factor affect on not achieving the design life of regency hotmix road is variable of methods of execution of work. 3) The strategies used to overcome not reaching the design life of the road hot mix in Malang Regency are: a) carefully into account in determining the conditions of terrain, and analyzing terrain contour map, b) Strict supervision and provide complete surveillance equipment, good coordination with the relevant stakeholders, brefing before work and evaluate each of the items of work upon completion of working hours, c) Conduct laboratory tests in the form of sand cone tests in terrain that will be paved in order to determine the shear force land and the carrying capacity of the land that national standardized.
