Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe (1) the characteristics of planning Management Based Learning Character School SMP Negeri 19 Purworejo, (2) the characteristics of the management implementation Based Learning Character School SMP Negeri 19 Purworejo, and (3) the characteristics of the evaluation of Management Character Based learning Junior High School 19 Purworejo. Data collection techniques of observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques of the data collection, data reduction, the data presentation, and conclusion. Test validity using triangulation. The results of this study (1) Study of character education to be implemented in junior high school N 19 is an attempt to instill character education internally in order to avoid moral crisis and a crisis of confidence in children dididk. The curriculum used together with other schools, namely curriculum 2006 , with the addition of a "plus" of the National Character. (2) The existence of culture smile, polite, courteous that must be carried out for all people in the environment of SMPN 19 Purworejo. (3) The evaluation is conducted every Saturday and Monday and the end of the semester, announced the evaluation results obtained and presented awards to the best class that managed to instill character values in the SMP N 19 Purworejo within one semester. The advantages of the implementation of the character based learning at SMPN 19 Purworejo that students and teachers become more orderly and more polite. Achievement can be achieved with high discipline, in addition to the provision of additional lessons. It proved SMP N 19 Purworejo can win the Olympic IPA district level. Constraints in the implementation of problem-based learning only character habituation course, it takes time to actually be able to implement it.
