Abstract

Scouring is a process of river morphology which caused by quantity of sediment transport entering the section less then exit sedimen transport. The scouring in the river is very complex, and it was influenced by several factors, such as shear stress flow, velocity, flood wave propagation and turbulence. The purposes of this research is to study the depth of scouring at the Pile foundation of bridge with several factors influence such as Reynold numbers (turbulence), the Froude number with some variation of discharge and slope bottom channel. The research conducted at the Laboratorium Balai Litbang Teknologi Sungai, located in Surakarta, subordinate of Pusat Penelitian Dan Pengembangan Air, Ministry of Public Work and Housing. The research carried out by several steps, such as: literature study, preparation of tools and materials preparation, running the scour research and data collection, analysis and discussion of the results of the scour research. Based on the results of laboratory research, the maximum scour depth occurs on a slope of 0.02 is equal to -8.8667 mm at the observation point 1 (Hexagonal 1) that is the pillar that indicates the direction at 10 o’clock in the upstream. Maximum scouring were observed with three (3) variations in slope ie : 0.006, 0.0125 and 0.020. On Slope of 0.006 scouring seen stable at 180 minutes, at 0.0125 scour slope is stable at 270 minutes, while for 0,020 scour slope is stable from minute 270 to 300. from this researches are obtained seven (7) equation which can used to calculate the depth of scouring, but only 3 (three) equation which gain to the best correlation results and considered able to follow the depth scouring calculation from laboratory results.
