Abstract

This research paper is aimed at describ ing the content validity of listening comprehension test of UAN for SMA 2004-2007. The content validity is seen from the appropriateness or the test items to the listening competency in Competency - based Curriculum and the distribution of its cognitive domain. The data are taken from the listening comprehension test of UAN for SMA 2004-2007. Listening comprehension test of UAN 2004-2007 has different in total number and part in the test items. The parameter of the content validity is listening competency in Competency - based Curriculum and cognitive domain in Bloom Taxonomy. The writer uses descriptive qualitative research. The steps for analyzing data are started from counting the total test items, second, listing the content of listening competency in Competency-based Curriculum, then, determining the test items for each content of listening competency. Finally, judging whether the listening comprehension test in UAN valid with the Competency-based Curriculum. The result of the research shows that (1) the content of listening comprehension test of UAN 2004-2007 are not representative to the Competencybased Curriculum. The percentage of the content validity is 19.6% in UAN 2004, 16.1% in UAN 2005, 19.4% in UAN 2006, and 20.9% in UAN 2007. (2) The distribution of cognitive domain in listening comprehension test of UAN for SMA 2004-2007 is not in the right proportion.
