Abstract

The most important criteria of the successful building project is having a good interior condition, low treatment cost, and pleasant. The comfortable of a building gained if there is an ideal air quality inside the room. One of several ways that can be done to get an ideal air that is by importing the air from the outside into the room by using wind catcher against home stay and knowing the effect from the changing of the wind. This research conducted by using two steps. The first steps is doing CFD simulation to know the performance of wind catcher against home stay as the replacement of vertical ventilation. The second steps is that wind catcher has simulated back with different variation of wind direction, those are 0o, 30o, 60o, 90o, 120o, 150o and 180o. Where in this research, speed of the wind which is used is 1,4m/s. Because of the shape of the object is complex, hence, unstructured mesh is used and produced 28475376 element. The result showed that home stay which is use wind tower by simulating CFD able to give effect of comfort to the inhabitants inside the room. While the best wind direction with the highest speed is 0o as much as 0,240m/s, the lowest temperature gained on wind direction 90o that is 29,108oC and the lowest damp of wind direction is 150o as much as 79,6%.vapour.
