Abstract

This study aims to improve the student’s learning activeness using discovery learning. This study was a classroom action research which was conducted in two cycles. The subjects in this study were teachers who provide action and the action recipients were students of class X-B PS accounting of SMK Teknosa Surakartawith total 30 students. The method of collecting data which used in this study were interviews, observation, field notes, and documentation. The techniques of data analysis used in this study were data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results showed that there were an increase in students' learning activities that can be seen from the indicators, namely: 1) Student’s who participate in carrying out the task of learning before action was 33,33% and at the end of the action, it became 96.67%, 2) Students who engage in problem solvingbefore actions was 30% and at the end of the action, it became 83.33%, 3) Students dare ask another student or a teacher if it does not understand that it faces before action was 16.67% and at the end of the action it became 70%, 4) Student’s trying to find a variety of information necessary for solving the problem before actions 26.67% and at the end of the action becomes 83.33% , 5) Student’s who conducting group discussion in accordance with user teacher before action was 23,33% and at the end of the action it became 93.33%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of learning method of discovery learning can increase the student’s learning activeness in learning accounting for students class X-B PS of SMK Teknosa Surakarta.
