Abstract

This study is aimed at describing three things. They are the implementations of teaching vocabulary by using cartoon film, the teaching result and the strength and weaknesses. In achieving the objectives of the research, the writer uses the Classroom Action Research which involves four steps, namely planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The research is held in SD N 02 Bakalan. The writer takes the fourth grade that consists of 22 students as the subject of the study. There are three cycle in this research which is in 90’ for each cycle. After concluding and analyzing the data, the writer describes the result of the research as follows: in pre-test the highest score is 85, the lowest score is 45 and the mean of the student’s score is 64,31. While in the post-test the highest score is 100, the lowest score is 55, and the score’s mean is 81,59. The percentage of the students succes in pre-test is about 45,45% and in post-test is 81,81%. Its mean that their ability in studying vocabulary by using cartoon film from pre-test into the post-test is improve 36,36%. Overall, the writer concludes that teaching vocabulary through cartoon film is appropriate and quite effective for the fourth year student of SD N 02 Bakalan. The students easier to memorize the vocabulary, because they more enthusiastic in teaching learning process. They also looks happy and enjoy the lesson, so they more active and full of concentration in the classroom
