Abstract

The objectives of this research are to describe the implementation of School Level-based Curriculum in the teaching of English to the first year student of Junior High School and also the problems and the benefits of it. This research was undertaken in SMP Gajah Mungkur 6 Ngadirojo, Wonogiri. The subjects of the research are the teachers and the first year students especially in the class VII A And VII B. The writer collected the data of the research through observation, document analysis, and interview.and to have credibility of the data the writer used triangulation method. The result shows that the implementation of SLBC in SMP Gajah Mungkur 6 Ngadirojo runs well. The teaching learning is suitable with the syllabus. The indicators of competence are achievement. The problem faced by the teacher in teaching learning process are limited time in teaching learning process and different students ability to accept the material in teaching learning process. The students are active and enthusiastic in teaching learning process.
