Abstract

Contraceptive choice should be decided well, to see the need, benefits and side effects of usage. Contraceptive choice associated with the support of a husband or partner approvals. The support given by the husband solidify the use of contraceptives by his wife and even his wife felt calm planning participants when her husband gave his full support, including counseling accompany, installation of contraception, control and always nurturing accompany his wife when something unexpected happens. This study aims to identify the role of husband for making decisions on family planning in health centers Gatak Sukoharjo. This research is a descriptive design with a population Acceptor hormonal and non-hormonal birth control in Puskesmas Gatak Sukoharjo reached 6,884 acceptors. Samples are 57 acceptors with accidental sampling technique. Collecting data using a questionnaire study were analyzed with descriptive analysis. This study concluded that the role of the husband as a motivator in the decision making family planning is largely good, husband's role as an educator in the decision making family planning is largely poor, and the husband's role as a facilitator in the decision-making family planning in Puskesmas Gatak Sukoharjo partially big is good.
