Abstract

Background : Reseach about parents level of education and effect of nutritional status in childhood showing there were significant result in some researcher. Profession and income or economics status gave an different effect in some families. So that need further research about parents level of education and the effect to childhood nutritional status. Objective : To determine a correlation parents level of education in childhood nutritional status in Ngargosari village Samigaluh District of Kulon Progo Yogyakarta in 2016. Methods : This study was cross sectional design. The subject of this research are childhood around 12-60 months and lived in Ngargosari village Samigaluh district of Kulon Progo Yogyakarta. Technic sampling was total sampling. The data was obtained by questionnaires and antropometric measurement. The reaserch statical test was using chi square. Results : The data was obtained in nutritional status Weight for age (BB/U) in level of education in fathers obtained value p=0,19 and mothers p=0,02. While the result nutritional status Height for age (TB/U) in level of education fahers obtaind value p=0,05 and mothers p=0,009. Conclusions : there are a correlation between parents levels of education and nutritional status in childhood in Ngargosari village Samigaluh District of Kulon Progo Yogyakarta.
