Abstract

Efforts to increase healthy behaviors in the community do not show optimal results. The results of a preliminary survey conducted in SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura shows that eighth graders who totaled 32 people, only 6 (18.8%) who have a habit of handwashing with soap. All students are even reported to have never received counseling about how to wash hands properly. The impact of the lack of knowledge and understanding of PHBS is thought to be one factor contributing to the high rates of spread of infectious diseases such as diarrhea, dengue, and others. The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of health education on knowledge and attitude of PHBS in students. This research uses experimental research with one group pre - post test design. Population and sample in this research is class VIII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura the academic year 2015/2016 about 32 students. Collection technique using a angket. Data were analyzed using t test. Data were analyzed using t test. The results showed that there was the influence of health education on the knowledge and attitudes of students towards a clean and healthy living behaviors (PHBS) in junior high school students Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura (p=0,000)
