Abstract

Faisal Riski Abda'u, A 610 090 050, Department of Geography Education, the Faculty of Education, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta, 2015. The purpose of this study was to determine the preparedness of society to the earthquake disaster in the district of Bayat Klaten district. Researchers using descriptive-qualitative method. Purposive sampling method descriptive. Researchers in obtaining the data using survey techniques (observation, questionnaire / form and interview) by taking two samples from each of the villages located in the district of Bayat. Earthquake 2006 ago into a heavily hit Bayat Klaten district and sub-district became one of the districts with the greatest impact. The results showed that community preparedness in District Bayat of knowledge and attitude of each individual as well as the household they already understand the disaster risk shown by the agreement of the family in determining the place of evaluation, the resources of the government or tools disaster warning, as well as their training or simulated disaster Bayat made public in the district. In addition evacuation routes, repair facilities and infrastructure to be one of the first steps to save yourself and your family. already dissemination of disaster risk knowledge, ability to mobilize the community, as well as their disaster warning system by the government show that the rural communities in the District Bayat has been prepared against earthquake. The study concluded that the public has had a good disaster preparedness, the views of the individual's knowledge about disaster risks, policies and guidelines for preparedness families, their disaster warning system, as well as the ability to mobilize resources.
