Abstract

This research aims to describe: 1) Character development religiously through the culture of reading Juz 'Amma And reading prayers Class VB in SD Muhammadiyah 22 Sruni Surakarta 2) Character development discipline through the culture of reading Juz' Amma and reading prayers class VB in SD Muhammadiyah 22 Sruni Surakarta 3) Obstacles encountered character development religious and discipline through the culture of reading Juz 'Amma and reading prayers class VB in SD Muhammadiyah 22 Sruni Surakarta 4) Solution to overcome the obstacles encountered character development religious and discipline through the culture of reading Juz' Amma and reading prayers Class Vb in SD Muhammadiyah 22 Sruni Surakarta. This type of research is qualitative research ( Qualitative Research) with ethnographic research design. The informants are principals, Waka curriculum, teacher class VB, and students class VB. Data collection techniques used that is observation, interview, and documentation. Data were analyzed through the steps of data reduction and withdrawal conclusion. Examination technique authenticity of data is done with triangulation sources and methods. research shows that religious character development and discipline through the culture of reading Juz 'Amma and reading prayers class VB in SD Muhammadiyah 22 Sruni Surakarta implemented in the form of routine activities that include reading Juz 'Amma and reading prayers, and pray together before learning begins. The developed elements of a religious character is a belief, worship, religious knowledge, religious experience, and the consequences. Discipline developed character element is regulation, punishment, appreciation, and consistency. The approach used is halaqoh and individual approach. This study therefore concluded that the culture of reading Juz 'Amma and prayer readings can develop the religious character and discipline of students class VB in SD Muhammadiyah 22 Sruni Surakarta years of study 2015/2016.
