Abstract

Electrical energy is one of the necessities needed by all countries in the world. This is because the electrical energy is one of the major factors for the economic growth of a country. Electric energy issues become increasingly complex as the increased need for energy of all countries in the world to sustain its economic growth would make supplies of conventional energy reserves become fewer and fewer. The purpose of this study was to make a corn sheller design with solar energy and electrical energy PLN. The research started from making corn and sheller machine mounting components such as solar panels, converters and DC motor on corn sheller has been designed previously. Then checking the components that have been installed are functioning normally. The electrical energy generated by the solar panels will be used as an energy source to run a corn sheller machine. PLN electrical energy is used as an additional energy if the power produced by the solar panels is less. How to observations made are related to data capture voltage and current produced by the panels suya, the engine speed and the length of time to sheller. Equipment used include: luxmeter, ammeter, tachometer and astopwatch. first performed on 103 700 lux light intensity voltage of 19 V and a current of 2 A produces 1705 rpm rotational speed so that the corn sheller machine works very well with a time of 0.10 minutes per corn. And so on with different intensity to the intensity of 29300 lux low of a voltage of 8.2 V and a current of 1 A yield 402.4 rpm rotational speed so that the corn sheller machine no longer able to work well (can not memipil corn again). further attempts to PLN pemipilan with electrical energy when corn sheller machine does not get enough energy supply from solar panels because of the intensity of light is low, the engine can be changed by moving the sources of energy other energy sources to the electricity grid. In this study, found the results after the electricity is converted to a voltage of 11.2 V converter shows, currents of 1.5 A and a rotary speed of 910.2 rpm so found pemipilan time is 0.19minutes per corn.
