Abstract

This research studies about the translation analysis of noun suffixes Sandra Brown’s A Treasure Worth Seeking into Permata Hati by Diniarty Pandai. The objectives of the study are to classify the varieties meaning of noun suffixes and to describe the equivalence translation of noun suffixes is Sandra Brown’s A Treasure Worth Seeking. This research implies a descriptive qualitative research. The objects of the research are noun suffixes in A Treasure Worth Seeking and is translation Permata Hati. The data are in the forms of phrases, clauses, and sentences containing noun suffixes. They are collected from both the novels by using documentation method. She applies comparison method between SL and TL in analyzing the data of the research. The results of the research show that: 1) there are eleven types of noun suffixes, namely: suffix –age, -al, -ance (-ence), -ment, -tion (-sion), -er (-or), -ing, -ity, -ness, -th, and –ism; 2) from 107 data, all the data or 100% belong to equivalent translation. It means that the translation of noun suffixes in A Treasure Worth Seeking is very good, because all the translations are translated into equivalent translation.
