Abstract
Introduction: 1-5 years old toddler is a vulnerable group of nutrition problem. In Indonesia, there is a double nutritional problem, which are malnutrition and over nutrition. Based on the previous survey researcher conducted, prevalence of malnutrition and severe malnutrition in Ngebung village Kalijambe district Regency of Sragen is 19.2%. One of indirect factors that can affect malnutrition and severe malnutrition is mother’s knowledge and nutrition parenting. Nutrition knowledge is the result of individual’s understanding about foods and nutrients, nutrients sources on food and how to process food so that nutrients in foods will not be lost. And the nutrition parenting is mother’s attitude of behavior in the provision and regulation eating pattern of toddler. Objective: This research is to understand the relation between mother’s knowledge with nutrition parenting and toddler’s nutrition status in Ngebung village Kalijambe district Regency of Sragen Research method: This research is using correlative descriptive method with cross sectional. Data collection is used by the assessment of Anthropometry in order to unveil toddlers’ nutrients status then conducting mother’s knowledge and nutrition parenting questionnaire filling with toddlers’ nutrition status. The sampling is using simple random sampling so that it required 35 toddlers sample using Pearson Product Moment test. Research: Most of good mother’s nutrition knowledge 57.1%, nutrition parenting has 60.0% with most toddler’s nutrition normal status 94.2 %. The relation between mother’s knowledge and toddler’s nutrition statues p value = 0.162, the relation between nutrition parenting p value = 0.025. Conclusion: There is a relation between mother’s knowledge with nutrition parenting and toddle nutrition status in Ngebung village Kalijambe district Regency of Sragen.
