Abstract

The research aims to describe the teacher’s feedback in teaching pronunciation and to know the students responses. The result of this study hopefully gives contribution to teaching –learning English especially in teaching pronunciation. This research was carried out at SD N 09 Ngringo, Karanganyar, especially at the fourth year. To collect the required data, the research took all elements of teaching-learning process committed by the teacher, the students, and other sources such as book, syllabus, etc. The method of collecting data is descriptive qualitative method using interview, observation, and documentation. The results of the research include the strategies of teacher’s feedback and student’s responses. In giving feedback, the teacher usually uses question and answer strategies. Using this strategy, the teacher hopes that the students can think of the correct answer. Besides, the teacher also increases the eye contact and uses rising intonation in order that the students can correct themselves. The last, the teacher uses repetition after the students mispronounce the words. The teacher uses these strategies to encourage the student’s motivation in learning English without feeling angry to make error and mistake. The teacher is never angry to the students who make error, so that the students feel comfortable and happy in learning English. The writer concludes that the teaching learning process, especially in teaching pronunciation, run very well. The students look very enthusiastic and enjoyed during the lesson.
