Abstract
This paper aims to know the technique that is used in teaching speaking and to describe the process of teaching at the third year of language program of Pangudi Luhur Saints Joseph Senior High School Surakarta. The data is taken from observation in the classroom at the third year students of language program of Pangudi Luhur Saint Joseph Senior High School Surakarta. Based on the research finding, the conclusion can be drawn as follows : 1) the technique that is used by the teacher to teach teaching speaking is presentation, 2) the process of teaching speaking at the third year students of language program of Pangudi Luhur Senior High School Surakarta teacher uses four components of teaching speaking, namely: curriculum (objective, syllabus, and material), technique, teaching media and system of evaluation.
