Abstract

The major problem of this study is how self-actualization needs of Elle are reflected in Robert Luketic. Meanwhile, this problem is limited on the major character, especially Elle Woods. In addition, the writer also limits the perspective on the Hierarchy of Needs according to Maslow’s theory. The objective of this study is to analyze the movie based on its structural elements, and evaluated on Humanistic Approach. This research paper belongs to qualitative study that uses two data sources, primary data source and secondary data source. Primary data source is the movie itself and the secondary data source is taken from different references that include the material about the books and articles from the internet are related to analysis is descriptive analysis. The outcome of the study shows the following conclusion. First, the study shows that Legally Blonde of Robert Luketic describes about the blonde girl’s life that is changes from Miss Hawaiian in to serious life in Harvard Law School. Second, Robert Luketic describes the levels of Elle’s needs which are evaluated in Humanistic Psychological Perspective. The major character, Elle Woods can complete the four basic needs with easily, while the last needs is mostly satisfied by Elle Woods.
