Abstract

simple English words. The objective of this research is to describe the implementation, the result, the difficulty, and the advantages of teaching pronunciation using cartoon film to the third year students of SD N 3 Banyudono in the school year 2007/ 2008. In this research the writer carries out experiment. The writer takes 20 students as the population. The writer takes all the population as sample because the subject is less than one hundred. The goal in this research is to describe the implementation, the result, the difficulty, and to know the advantages of teaching pronunciation using cartoon film to the third year students of SD N 3 Banyudono in the school year 2007/ 2008. The techniques of data analysis in this research are describing the achievement on student’s individual pronunciation before and after conducting the research, comparing the student’s individual pronunciation before and after conducting the research, comparing the student’s scores from the test that is given before and after the treatment. To know the results of teaching pronunciation, the writer gives two kinds of test, namely pre- test and post- test. Each test consists of 22 items. In pre- test the highest score is 18, 1, the lowest score is 0 and mean score is 10, 62. While in post- test, the highest score is 1000, the lowest score is 81, 8 and mean score is 93, 40. The writer compares two tests to know how far the students can achieve the target pronunciation using cartoon film. The analysis result from the statistical table of the teaching experiment by using pre- test and post- test one group is significant, where the result of to is higher (65, 49) than ts (2, 10). It means that it influences to the pronunciation achievement of the experimental group. In conclusion, the experiment of teaching pronunciation using cartoon film in this research has good result in pronunciation achievement
