Abstract

This research was written to achieve the objective, that is to describe the implementation of School-based Curriculum (KTSP) for the first year students of SMPN 2 Teras Boyolali. And this research the writer focuses in six dimensions, those are (1) educational purposes of the program (goal), (2) syllabus, (3) the content (language teaching material), (4) the methods of teaching, (5) media of teaching, and (6) the evaluation systems. The method used in this study is descriptive study. This research conducted on August, 26 2007. The object of the study is English teaching learning process for the first year students of SMPN 2 Teras Boyolali. The technique of collecting data in this research are observation, interview, and document analysis. In analyzing the data, the writer used interactive method. There are three components, those are data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusion. The result of the study shows that (1) Educational Purpose of the Program is to make students’ activities in learning and finding the learning sources based on the students’ potency, (2) The teacher used the syllabus to give the students’ evaluation in learning process, (3) Teacher doesn’t use material based on hand book but she add the other book, (4) The teacher not only use the material based on the main handbook, but she use the other book, (5) Teacher use real things, tape recorder, picture, and language laboratory to teach the students, (6) There are three aspect in evaluation system, cognitive aspect, psycomotoric aspect, and affective aspect.
