Abstract

This research is aimed at analyzing and describing the critical thinking skills of Civics elementary school students in Kartosuro District based on their level of self-efficacy. Several studies have concluded that self-efficacy can be realized with the presence of supporting factors from the environment and the average level or level of knowledge is high. Self Efficacy greatly influences what students do. Students who do not want to try, achieving critical thinking skills in mathematics is not easy. Critical thinking skills train students to make decisions from various perspectives carefully, thoroughly and logically. If students' critical thinking skills are instilled and developed in students, then human resources who are intelligent in thinking and critical in solving problems will be formed. This resulted in many students eventually getting used to cheating or relying on other people to solve the problems they faced because they were unsure of their own abilities. The subjects used were the classes at SDN Gonilan 02, SD N Ngabeyan 01 and SD N Pabelan 03 in Kartasura District where all three had grades different self-esteem, namely high, medium, and low. This research is a correlational study with qualitative analysis. Qualitative research methods are defined as social science research methods that collect and analyze data in the form of words. Data collection was carried out by providing self-efficacy questionnaires, tests of critical thinking skills, and interviews. To analyze the data, the technique used is simple regression. Meanwhile, for the validity of the data, the time triangulation technique was used. From this study it can be concluded that the higher the level of self-efficacy of students, the better the students' mathematical critical thinking skills, and vice versa.
