Abstract

This research aims at developing student’s vocabulary by using games with songs and pictures applied integratedly in teaching vocabulary for kindergarten student’s and to know the result of teaching vocabulary by using games with songs and pictures. The research is action research which is taken as a result of reflection on phenomena problem or issues. In this research the teacher faces two problems. First, she can not handle the vocabulary. Using games with songs and pictures integratedly is chosen to overcome the problems. This research consists of five cycle and each cycle consists of four steps, they are planning, implementing, observing and reflecting the action. The result of the study shows that using games with songs and pictures integratedly is more effective or teaching vocabulary for kindergarten student’s because, games with songs and pictures make the lesson enjoyable and help them learn vocabulary easily. Besides, games make the teacher handle the class better and make almost all of student can practice their vocabulary. The result of the test shows that the mean score of the student’s vocabulary mastery after the teacher conducts the action is 87,63 and the mean score of student action is 75,37. The increasing of mean score is 12,26 and it belongs to medium categories. It means that implementation of games on teaching English vocabulary is effective to develop student’s vocabulary mastery.
