Abstract

The study aims to describe the improvement of the students’ writing skill after the facilitative error correction feedback is applied at the second grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Wonosari of Klaten in 2008/2009 academic year. The study is a classroom action research, in which the writer collaborates with the teacher to do systematic inquiry in teaching learning environment to gather information about the ways of the particular school operation, how to teach, and how well their students learn. The data source are event, informants, and document. The methods of collecting data are observation, interview, and documentation. The data are analyzed through the steps, namely reducing data, presenting data, and verifying the data. The study is conducted in following the four procedures, namely planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The result of the study shows that in each cycle, there is improvement in this study. The genre used is report text, and the focuses of improvement are draft, grammar, and vocabulary. The improvement is proven by the scores of pre-test and post-test. The scores of post-test are higher than pre-test. Thus, it can be concluded that the student writing skill is improved.
