Abstract
Investigation is research of the analysis of translation ways in the comic" The Walking Dead" by Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore. The points of the study are (1) To find out the translation techniques used by translators in translating The Walking Dead comics. (2) To find out the accuracy of the translations that appear in The Walking Dead comics. The data of this research is in the form of taboo words or censored in The Walking Dead comic. The data source is a document taken from a comic titled The Walking Dead. Data collection is done by documentation, namely reading comics, identifying data, underlining and coding censored words. To get the validity of this research, the researcher used triangulation technique. The data were analysisd using the translation technique classified by Molina and Albir (2002), then the data was analysisd for the accuracy of the translation using Larson's (1998) theory. Data analysis was carried out through several stages, namely grouping censored words, analyzing the meaning of these words, interpreting and drawing conclusions. The findings allow for with an explanation: (1). The dominant translation ways set up in The Walking Dead comics are linguistic compression techniques (9%), reduction techniques (43%), generalization techniques (28%), word equivalents (5%), particularization techniques (4%), variation techniques (4%), modulation techniques (3%) and linguistic amplification techniques (4%). (2) The experimenters determined that almost all of the translation produced were valid based on the analysis results of The Walking Dead delicate translation.
