Abstract

Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) may occur due to unhealthy lifestyles such as the fast-food consumption, lack in vegetables and fruit consumption, and lack of physical activity. This unhealthy lifestyle usually begins in adolescence and the current lifestyle of teenagers is at risk for the incidence of non-communicable diseases. This study aims to analyze health behavior which includes consumption of fast food, vegetables and fruit, and rate of physical activity as risk factors for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in students at SMK N 6 Sukoharjo. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method with a cross sectional study design. The population of this study were all students of class X and XI of SMK N 6 Sukoharjo who were 15 years old. A sample of 145 students were selected by proportionate random sampling. The data was collected using online questionnaires via google form. Data analysis was done by descriptive method. The result of this research shows that the consumption of fast food is mostly in the low category as the student rarely consume it with the result as many as 96 respondent (66.2%). Vegetable consumption of the students are mostly lacking with respondent as much as 96 respondent (66.2%) and fruit consumption was mostly included in the less category as much as 80 (55.2%). Physical activity is mostly in the low category, which most of the student mostly do physical activity less 10 minutes/day as many as 132 respondednt (91%). The type of fast food that is most consumed by students was nuggets with 21 students (14.5%) and the least consumed was fried chicken as many as 11 students (7.6%). The vegetables which is most consumed were cucumber and bean sprouts as many as 4 students (2.8%) and the least consumed was long beans as many as 43 students (29.7%). Meanwhile, the most consumed fruits were papaya and melon as many as 3 students (2.1%) and the least consumed was mango as many as 45 students (31%). NDCs risk factors which has a high impact in adolescents are lack of vegetable and fruit consumption, and low physical activity. A solid cooperation from the school and health institutions in giving socialization using Posbindu PTM in NDCs subject is needed. Teenager are expected to increase their awareness in fast food consumption, fruit and vegetables consumption, and also doing sufficient physical activity to maintain their health.
