Abstract

The phenomenon of the COVID-19 vaccination carried out in Indonesia, which was organized by the Central Government and aimed at the Indonesian people, has drawn a lot of rejection from many people. Many health workers took part in persuading the public to want to vaccinate against COVID-19. This study aims to find out how the communication strategy method is carried out by one of the health workers, Professor Zubairi, who is a doctor as well as the head of the Indonesian Doctors Association's Covid-19 handling task force through his personal twitter account. Using a qualitative descriptive method, this study describes the communication strategies used by Professor Zubairi. By using health communication theory, risk and crisis management theory and collecting data by means of observation and documentation, it was found that the communication strategy technique used was repetition (repetition), educative (educating). In addition, the results found why using social media because social media has flexible characteristics. The health crisis that occurred in the phenomenon of the rejection of the Covid-19 vaccine last time could be a lesson for all Indonesian countries to be able to handle a health crisis that might happen again one day. Health crises will be handled properly by using the right health communication strategies as well.
