Abstract

An agreement is an event where one person promises to another person or where two people promise each other to carry out something. A debt agreement is certainly not free from risks. One of the risks that occurs is the non-payment of debt which then results in a dispute over the transfer of rights that occurs because of a debt agreement where one party does not want to transfer rights after an agreement occurs. The author's research took place at the Karanganyar District Court. This study aims to determine, describe and analyze the settlement of disputes over the transfer of land rights due to a debt agreement. The research method that the writer uses is descriptive research with a normative approach. The results of the study indicate that a dispute that can occur due to a debt agreement is a breach of contract, that is, the achievements in the agreement are not fulfilled. Settlement of disputes over the transfer of ownership rights to land due to debt agreements can be reached through the courts. The process is the same as any other civil lawsuit. Decisions issued by the Panel of Judges on disputes over the transfer of rights can be used as evidence in the process of changing names at the designated land office.
