Abstract

The aim of this article is to find out the procedures for supervising the implementation of the notary position, the weaknesses and shortcomings in the supervision of the implementation of the notary position, and the efforts to improve it. There are many cases of notaries violating the code of ethics in Indonesia. The research method used in this article is "normative legal/juridical normative research." The data obtained were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. Qualitative descriptive analysis is a method of analyzing data by grouping and selecting secondary data in the form of laws. Furthermore, it is correlated with theories and legal rules obtained from literature studies related to the object of research, namely notary supervision, in order to obtain answers of the formulated problems. According to the findings of the research, the supervision of the notary position's implementation still has several weaknesses and shortcomings. This is due to the overlapping between the two supervisory organs and the regulation. These two weaknesses can be overcome by synchronizing regulations and clear delegation of authority.
