Abstract

In order for the public to evaluate the financial performance of local governments, local governments are obliged to provide transparent information to the public regarding their regional finances. Society is entitled. This study aims to determine the effect of the size of the local government, the level of regional wealth, the level of dependence on the center and the findings of the BPK audit on the financial performance of local governments in districts/cities in Central Java Province in 2016-2020. Jenuh sampling was used to select sampling, the number of samples obtained was 35 districts/cities with 175 observations. The researcher used multiple linear regression analysis. This study found that the variable size of local government and the level of dependence on the center affect the financial performance of local governments, while the variables of the level of regional wealth and BPK audit findings have no effect on the financial performance of local governments.
