Abstract

Changes in land from agriculture to non-agriculture continue to occur every year, this affects the amount of rice stock availability and the level of rice demand. The type of data used in this study is quantitative data in the form of time series data within the last 5 years, namely from 2016-2020. The results showed that the availability of rice in Klaten Regency has decreased since 2017, in 2018 to 2019 there was an increase in the amount of available rice, but in 2020 it decreased slightly again. The demand for rice in Klaten Regency continues to increase every year. This is based on the increasing number of residents in an area. The higher the population in a district, the higher the number of needs. Overall, Klaten Regency is classified as a rice surplus, the number of sub-districts with a rice surplus is 22 sub-districts and a rice deficit is 4 sub-districts. In general, sub-districts with a surplus of rice have supportive natural conditions and large planting areas, and sub-districts with a rice deficit are due to mountainous areas and densely populated areas. This study aims to determine the availability and demand for rice in Klaten Regency.
