Abstract

Background: Coronavirus Disease-19 (COVID-19) has been declared a worldwide pandemic by WHO. The government establishes special policies for health services at the Puskesmas level in all service areas including maternal and newborn services to reduce maternal and infant mortality during the pandemic. The existence of social restrictions and a pandemic situation has the potential for lessthan optimal access to MCH services which can lead to not achieving the service targets set by the Puskesmas. Objective: This study aims to describe the components of MCH services held at the Puskesmas and their achievements before the Covid-19 pandemic, and during the Covid-19 pandemic. Methods: This type of research is quantitative using a descriptive approach. This study uses secondary data available at the Puskesmas then the data taken is adjusted to the research objectives. Data analysis using univariate analysis by calculating the percentage of service achievement. Result: The total components of MCH services are 13 services. Before the pandemic, the service components achieved were 8 health services with a percentage of 61.5%, and those that were not achieved were 5 services with a percentage of 38.5%. During the pandemic, the services achieved were 4 health services at the Gompo Health Center with a percentage of 30.8% and those that were not achieved were 9 with a percentage of 69.2%. Conclusion: There is no difference in the number of MCH service components before and during the Covid-19 pandemic but during the pandemic there was a decrease in MCH service targets. Suggestion: This data can be used as evidence of the need for further evaluation of whether this reduction in targets has an impact on the health of mothers and children.
