Abstract

The current COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on various sectors, including health, economy, and social. From a health perspective, this make people more aware of the importance of maintaining health trying to change their lifestyle. There is a change in life making various circulating health products such as masks, soaps, hand sanitizers, multivitamins, and so on. There is a Creativity Program This student becomes one of the forums for students to participate in increase the value of health in society. One of the many products the most popular is soap, so the title chosen by PKM-K is “SATIMA: INNOVATION OF ANTISEPTIC SOAP FROM COOKING OIL AND Basil (Ocimum bacillium L.) LEAF EXTRACT” The outputs of this PKM-K are in the form of product manufacture to marketing and marketing business analysis, program progress progress reports, and final reports program continuity. This Student Creativity Program is implemented online and offline while still observing health protocols. The manufacture of basil leaf extract by maceration is carried out offline at UMS pharmacy faculty laboratory because it requires high-tech equipment the rotary evaporator. Meanwhile, communication and coordination between all team members and supervisors are carried out online through Whatsapp, Google Meet, and Zoom meeting. This SATIMA product has antibacterial activity so it is hoped that able to inhibit the growth of various types of bacteria. In addition, the program This PKM-K has the potential to open up opportunities for the community to cultivating basil leaves when basil leaves are used maximally increase the community's economy. Besides that also provide benefits to the community related to waste oil treatment waste that is considered dirty and has no more use. The implementation method used in the manufacture of the product “SATIMA” is the production and marketing process. The production process that applied, namely purifying used cooking oil, making leaf extracts basil, soap making and quality control pH testing and product packaging. The marketing strategy applied is direct or indirect promotion directly (online) considering the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic. Results What has been achieved from the implementation of PKM-K is in the form of entrepreneurial products, namely: antiseptic soap with the trademark “SATIMA” antiseptic soap from oil used cooking oil and basil leaf extract, pH test quality control, progress reports and part of the final report. The achievement of the results of making the soap product "SATIMA" is of course cannot be separated from the contribution of several parties. Thanks to Directorate General of Higher Education Ministry of Education and Culture who has provided a forum for this Student Creativity Program, lecturer supervisor who has guided, provided direction and advice, and collaborated among team members who have put in time, effort and thought for the success and fluency in working on this PKM.
