Abstract

One of the environmental problems in the world, especially in Indonesia, is plastic waste. According to statistical data on waste in Indonesia from the Deputy for Pollution Control of the State Ministry of the Environment (KLH) in 2008, it was stated that based on an estimate of 26 metropolitan cities with a total population of 40.1 million people, they produced 14.1 million tons of waste. The research methodology used in this study is to use the RAL-factorial method (Completely Randomized Design arranged in factorial) with two treatments. Knowing how the comparison of cellulose concentration from nata de coco waste affects the manufacture of biodegradable plastic from nata de coco waste. Knowing how the effect of adding glycerol to the manufacture of biodegradable plastic from nata de coco waste. To determine the optimal ratio of cellulose and glycerol concentrations to make biodegradable plastic from nata de coco waste. This product is expected to provide new innovations for environmentally friendly biodegradable plastics.
