Abstract

Background : Hypertension is a degenerative disease that is a health problem that occurs throughout the world and continues to increase. Lack of physical activity can be one of the triggering factors for increasing blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Research Objectives : This study aims to determine the relationship between physical activity and the degree of blood pressure in the work area of the Gondosari Health Center, Pacitan Regency. Methods: The research design is descriptive analytic, using a cross sectional approach. The sample used was 106 respondents who were taken using random sampling technique. Data were collected by respondents using physical activity questionnaire sheets and observation sheets for blood pressure degrees. Results: This study shows that the physical activity of most respondents is categorized as high, namely 53 respondents (50%), 36 respondents (34%) have moderate activity, 17 respondents (16%) have low activity. The degree of blood pressure of hypertension patients showed that the category of blood pressure degree I was 59 respondents (55.7%), blood pressure degree II was 31 respondents (29.2%), blood pressure degree III was 16 respondents (15.1%), Then the data was analyzed using the Spearman rank test, the value of Sig = 0.001 (α 0.05) means that there is a relationship between physical activity and the degree of blood pressure in people with hypertension in the Gondosari Public Health Center, Pacitan Regency. Conclusion : There is a relationship between physical activity and the degree of blood pressure in hypertensive patients in the working area of the Gondosari Health Center.
