Abstract
The incidence of work accidents in Indonesia is quite high. So, one of the efforts that can be done to control the high incidence of work accidents is the use of PPE. Road cleaners in carrying out their work are very vulnerable to various risks of work accidents. Therefore, road cleaners are recommended to comply with the use of personal protective equipment in order to reduce the potential danger of work accidents. This study aims to determine the relationship between compliance with the use of PPE with the incidence of work accidents on janitors at the Pati Regency Public Works Department. This study uses an analytic observational research using a cross sectional study approach. The sample of this study amounted to 84 respondents with a sampling technique using accidental sampling. The statistical test used in this study is using the chi-square test. The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between compliance with the use of PPE with the incidence of work accidents on janitors at the Pati Regency Public Works Office with a p-value of 0.000 <0.05. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between compliance with the use of PPE with the incidence of work accidents in cleaning workers at the Pati Regency Public Works Department. For this reason, workers are advised to have awareness and be consistent regarding compliance with the use of PPE at work and remind each other if there are workers who do not comply with using PPE
