Abstract

Hypertension is a condition in which a person experiences an increase in systolic blood pressure of more than 140 mmHg and diastolic more than 90 mmHg. Hypertension is often called the "silent killer" because it often causes symptoms in a person. Often a person does not feel the symptoms that appear when they have an increase in blood pressure, but some people with hypertension feel symptoms such as headaches, dizziness or bleeding in the nose. Factors that influence the occurrence of hypertension are modifiable risk factors including nutrition, stress, obesity, diet, exercise habits, smoking habits, alcohol consumption and others. On the other hand, the risk factors that cannot be modified include gender, age and genetics. The purpose of this study was to describe the risk factors for hypertension in the Nusukan Community Health Center. Research method: this type of 2 quantitative research with a simple descriptive method. The sampling technique used is accidental sampling with a sample of 100 respondents with the research instrument used is a questionnaire. Data analysis in this research is using univariate analysis. Results: data analysis with chi-square with p < 0.05 obtained age with pvalue 0.018, obesity with p-value 0.016 and physical activity with p-value 0.042. Conclusion: there is a relationship between factors of age, obesity and physical activity with hypertension. Suggestion: health workers are expected to provide counseling about hypertension and increase the promotion of GERMAS (Healthy Living Community Movement) activities to the community in prevention efforts. Patients with hypertension are expected to be able to control blood pressure regularly to prevent complications.
