Abstract

Resort is one type of lodging service that is fairly exclusive and provides more supporting facilities compared to a conventional lodging. In the current pandemic era, many resorts are used as vacation destinations by many people, this is because resorts are considered to be a place that implements strict and guaranteed health protocols, so that visitors will feel safe to do activities in it. This holiday behavior is known as a staycation, which is a vacation by visiting an inn without having to move again and taking advantage of the facilities provided by the inn to meet the needs of visitors. The design of this vernacular staycation resort in Karanganyar emphasizes meeting the community's needs for alternative vacation facilities during the pandemic era, besides that resorts located in nature can also help increase body immunity. The concept that is emphasized at this resort is the vernacular concept, not only from an architectural point of view but also from the point of view of behavior and activities that have a vernacular philosophy. This concept is applied with the aim of preserving and introducing the culture and locale of Central Java to visitors.
